Duarte : Meeting on Name Change

The Chamber of Commerce will sponsor an informal town meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Duarte Town Center, 1600 Huntington Drive, to discuss changing the name of the city to Rancho Duarte.
The area was originally known as Rancho Azusa de Duarte, and chamber spokeswoman Eloise Ward said many people believe that the name change would reflect both the city’s improved image and its heritage.
