The World : 70 Israelis Riot at Camp

About 70 Jewish settlers went on a rampage at the Dheishe Palestinian refugee camp near Bethlehem on the occupied West Bank, smashing windows, slashing tires and firing in the air. No one was reported injured, but six settlers from nearby Kiryat Arba were arrested. Palestinians left their homes to confront the settlers before the army dispersed both groups by lobbing tear-gas canisters and firing in the air, said Brig. Gen. Amram Mitzna, the West Bank army commander. The settlers were retaliating for the stoning of an Israeli passenger bus, in which an Israeli woman was slightly injured, near the camp.
