THE OBSCENITY DEBATE

So the play “Jerker” offends the Rev. Larry Poland’s values. On television, radio and in print, fundamentalist preachers and their supporters attack the self-esteem and values of millions of lesbians and gay men. Fundamentalists engage in gay-bashing every day throughout the country in the name of religion and then have the gall to attack the one-time, local broadcast of a play.
