5th Victim of Road Violence Dies

California’s roadway violence claimed its fifth victim of the summer when a woman shot last week in an apparently motiveless attack as she rode on Los Angeles’ Avalon Boulevard died without ever regaining consciousness.
Debbie Ann Scott, 26, of Pasadena, who was critically wounded as she rode in the cab of a pickup truck Aug. 16, died at 9:06 p.m. Sunday at Martin Luther King Jr.-Drew Medical Center. She had never regained consciousness, a hospital spokeswoman said. No arrests have been made.
