Indian peacekeeping troops arrested two leaders of a Tamil guerrilla group after three days of violence between opposing rebel factions left more than 100 reported dead in Sri Lanka. The two rebels in custody, both members of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, were arrested in the village of Kiran, 12 miles north of the city of Batticaloa, after reports that members of the group were searching house to house for guerrillas belonging to the Eelam Peoples Revolutionary Liberation Front.
