KTLA-TV Channel 5 more than doubled its usual daytime ratings Tuesday with its continuous coverage of Pope John Paul II’s Los Angeles visit. The station’s daytime average of a 7 rating, compared to its usual average of about 3, was the highest in the Los Angeles market, and its prime-time peak rating of 14 at 8:30 p.m. was exceeded only by the ABC comedies “Growing Pains” and “Who’s the Boss?”
