L.A. Lutheran 13, First Lutheran 0--Ron Nohles accounted for all of L. A. Lutheran’s points and Alex Arnold carried 28 times for 138 yards in a victory over First Lutheran (0-2) in an eight-man game at L. A Baptist High.
Nohles scored on a 23-yard pass play from quarterback Chris Weinrich in the second quarter and a 14-yard run in the third quarter. L. A. Lutheran is 1-1. Harbor Christian 16, Simi Lutheran 0--Unhappy with the officiating and the rough play of Harbor Christian, Simi Lutheran Coach Robert Marti pulled his team off the field near the end of the third quarter, forfeiting the eight-man nonleague game.
Marti said that Harbor Christian was guilty of flagrant head slaps and spears to the visiting Simi Lutheran players. Marti also claimed that the referees failed to penalize Harbor Christian.
“They just weren’t calling penalties like they should have been,” said Marti. “This is supposed to be good clean Christian football and I don’t think Harbor Christian lived up to it the way our team did.”
Marti said he will contact Harbor Christian’s principal to express his concern some of Harbor Christian’s players alleged throwing punches.
