Orange County Community College Roundup : Parker and Riviere Lead Cypress to Water Polo Win Over Orange Coast

Glenn Parker and Matt Riviere had three goals each to lead Cypress College to a 9-8 victory over defending conference champion Orange Coast Friday in an Orange Empire Conference water polo match at Cypress.
Kurt Rudolph scored twice for Cypress (2-4, 5-10), with both goals in the fourth quarter.
In other Orange Empire Conference water polo:
Saddleback 13, Palomar 9--Keith Shore, J.D. Dennis and Dave Knox scored three goals each and Denny Bethkel had 15 saves for Saddleback (6-0, 8-1), the state’s third-ranked team.
In South Coast Conference water polo:
Golden West 18, Cerritos 10--Scott Larsen, an all-conference player last season, had five goals to lead the Rustlers (2-0, 10-2) at Cerritos. Jeff Wines had four goals and Craig Douglas, also an all-conference player last season, had three goals for Golden West.
In Orange Empire soccer:
Riverside 5, Cypress 0--Scott Knutson and Danial Pulido had two goals each for Riverside (3-0, 7-4) at Cypress. Cypress is 1-1-2, 2-5-2.
In nonconference soccer:
Golden West 3, Cuyamaca 2--Kurt Lundberg had two goals and Mike Weiss had one for the Rustlers (9-0-2) at Grossmont College. Eric Smith had seven saves for Golden West, ranked second in the state. Cuyamaca is 5-1-2.
Orange Coast 8, Victor Valley 1--Freshman John Bovetas scored two goals to lead the Pirates at Victor Valley. Steve Muzzy had three saves for Orange Coast (3-1-1, 5-3-2).
In South Coast Conference volleyball:
Golden West 3, Long Beach City 0--Outside hitter Laura Phillips had 17 kills and Christy Hooper had 7 to lead the Rustlers to a 15-9, 15-11, 15-10, victory at home. Golden West, the top-ranked team in the state, is 1-0, 6-0.
