Senate Judiciary Committee Votes No on Judge Bork
- Share via
The issue is not whether you are for or against Bork.
The Republican senators, in concert with Reagan, stress Bork’s judicial qualifications.
The Democratic senators say that’s not enough. We need more. They stress Bork’s teachings, his statements, that his philosophy and ideology are dangerous to our Democratic principles.
The problem is not whether you are a right-wing Republican or a middle-of-the-road Democrat.
The overriding issue is that an appointee to serve as a justice on the U.S. Supreme Court should have the overwhelming unfettered support of all our senators.
