AMR Corp.’s income dropped 27.8% to $87.1 million for the third quarter, compared to the year-ago period. The Dallas/Fort Worth Airport-based parent of American Airlines blamed higher costs, including fuel prices, and a one-time expense for an early retirement program. Operating revenue rose 27.7% to $1.975 billion as a result of a 30.9% increase in passenger revenue.
