THE HOLLYWOOD BLACKLIST
Ronald and Nancy Reagan for years have said that the blacklist brought them together; Judith Michaelson repeats the story that they met “when her name (Nancy Davis) appeared on a subversives list” and she asked for his help in correcting the error.
According to documents in the Screen Actors Guild archives, examined by Anne Edwards for her book “Early Reagan,” Nancy’s blacklisting problems arose in January, 1953.
But the Reagans married in March, 1952; thus their story of how they met is false.
