McDonnell Douglas’ income rose 88.4% to $80.3 million in the third quarter, partly from a change in accounting for pensions, which added $39.4 million to third-quarter income. The St. Louis-based company said sales were higher in all lines of business, with the highest increase in combat aircraft, which rose 9.1%. Revenue was up 5.4% to $9.8 billion.
