Long Beach Opens With Cal Poly Pomona

Cal State Long Beach, under new Coach Joe Harrington, will open its basketball season tonight against Cal Poly Pomona in a nonconference game at 7:30 in the university gym.
The 49ers have 10 players back from last season’s 12-19 team, including guard Morlon Wiley, who averaged 11.7 points a game, and center DeAnthony Langston, who averaged 10.7.
Cal Poly Pomona is 2-0 this season after beating San Francisco State, 95-83, and Cal State Sacramento, 104-98.
