Peace Activists Schedule March Through Whittier

WHITTIER — Peace activists have scheduled a 5 1/2-mile march through Whittier Saturday morning.
The event, sponsored by the Peace March of Southern California, will begin with a 10 a.m. orientation at the Whittier College Student Union. The march is scheduled to start at 10:30 and will travel on Beverly, Norwalk and Whittier boulevards and through earthquake-damaged Uptown Whittier.
Co-sponsors of the event include local church leaders and the Whittier Area Peace Coalition. Organizers say the march is one of a series held in Pasadena, Long Beach, Westwood, Venice, Los Angeles and Buena Park.
