Atlantic Research Corp. has accepted a sweetened takeover bid of $316 million from Sequa Corp., a diversified company with interests in aerospace and military electronics. The new bid raised the offer to $31 per share from $30. Atlantic Research is a high-technology company that makes propulsion systems and new propellant fuels and materials used in rocket motors. New York-based Sequa, formerly called Sun Chemical Corp., owns about 18.6% of Alexandria, Va.-based Atlantic Research’s shares.
