UTEP’s Haskins Gets 500th Win

EL PASO — Chris Blocker scored 16 points and Chris Sandle added 15 Thursday night to lead Texas El Paso to an 87-56 victory over Lamar, giving Coach Don Haskins his 500th career victory.
Haskins is the 20th coach to reach the 500 mark.
Trailing, 21-20, midway through the first half, the Miners (7-2) went on a 17-0 burst to take command. Blocker had eight points during the surge.
James Gulley scored 26 points for Lamar (3-3).
