Double Bed, a French-bred 5-year-old making his first start in the United States, beat favored Salem Drive by three quarters of a length to win the $200,000 Hialeah Turf Cup.
Double Bed, with Gerald Mosse up, was timed in 2:27 4-5 and paid $20, $7.20 and $4.40. Salem Drive, an entry with Uptown Swell and the 8-5 favorite, paid $3 and $2.40. Explosive Dancer, coupled with Upper Ben, paid $5.80 to show.
