THE PREPS : Soccer : Mission Viejo Stays Unbeaten in League Play

Mission Viejo High School’s Eric Ekdahl broke a scoreless tie with 1:40 played in the second half, and the Diablos went on to beat host San Clemente, 2-0, Friday in a South Coast League boys’ soccer match.
Greg Morales scored the second goal for Mission Viejo, the top-ranked team in the Southern Section’s 4-A division. The match was the third league shutout for the Diablos (15-4-1, 4-0-1).
San Clemente (0-3-3 in league play) finished with four saves. Goalie Joel Tkach had three saves and was replaced by Miguel Dendel, who had a save on a Mission Viejo penalty kick with a few minutes remaining in the game.
