THE PREPS : Boys’ Basketball : Claremont Defeats Calvary Baptist, 72-36

Tom Patraw had 24 points and 25 rebounds and Derek Evans had 27 points and 20 rebounds as Claremont High defeated Calvary Baptist, 72-36, in an Express League boys’ basketball game Friday at Claremont.
Claremont is 14-5 and 11-1 in league.
In the Olympic League:
Orange Lutheran 61, Valley Christian 50--Geoff MacArthur, a senior forward, scored 22 points for Orange Lutheran (13-6, 8-2) at home. Gaylord Greene added 13 points and 6 rebounds for Orange Lutheran.
In the Academy League:
Liberty Christian 62, Leffingwell Christian 49--Senior center Rick Hills scored 22 points and Tim Crouch scored 16 points and had 11 rebounds for Liberty Christian (9-9, 4-8) at home. Hee Seok Ahn added 10 points for Liberty Christian. Jason Carpenter led Leffingwell Christian (6-6 in league) with 16 points, and Dave McKenna added 12.
In girls’ Academy League action:
Liberty Christian 61, Leffingwell Christian 37--Sharon Crouch scored 28 points and had 11 rebounds for Liberty Christian (16-1, 11-0), which clinched the Academy League championship. Lisa Whitner added 16 points and 21 rebounds for Liberty Christian.
