Coping With Tax Reform
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 140 points on Jan. 8. Residual effects of the Oct. 19 crash?
No. I believe the public is getting tangible results as they cope with the new tax law and forms now being distributed by the Internal Revenue Service.
Loss of deductions, confusing and difficult tax forms are causing the public to go conservative in their spending habits, fueling concerns of a recession.
Congress should wake up, balance the budget, act on the trade deficit and make another attempt to achieve a new and fair tax reform.
