Local News in Brief : Water System to Be Flushed
- Share via
Hawthorne Water Department customers may notice a temporary loss of water pressure as the city conducts its semi-annual flushing of the municipal water system starting March 1, said Supt. Al Rivier.
Hydrants will be opened at intermittent points to purge the system of sediment and other impurities, Rivier said.
The flushing will begin in the southwest quadrant of the city, and will proceed to the southeast, northwest and northeast sections. The entire process will take about six weeks. For information call the city’s water treatment plant, 970-7226.
