Castle & Cooke’s profit jumped 122% to $97.4 million for 1987. Revenue for the year rose to $1.75 billion, up 4%. The Los Angeles-based holding company for Dole Food Co. and Oceanic Properties said the results reflect improvements in its fresh vegetable produce lines, increased sales at the company’s residential developments in Hawaii and California and reduced interest and administrative expenses.
