A 26-year-old handyman was found stabbed and beaten to death Friday in the A Street home he was helping to paint and repair, police said.
Charles Ziegler had stab wounds to the chest and multiple head injuries. He was found by co-workers at about 8:30 a.m. at the house in the 4800 block of A Street, police spokesman Dave Cohen said. Ziegler, a recent arrival from Pennsylvania, had been employed as a live-in handyman in the residence, which was undergoing major repairs.
Investigators had no clues as to a motive for the crime, Cohen said.
An autopsy was scheduled.
