Local news in Brief : Irvine : Congressman, Panelists to Discuss U.N. Reform

Rep. Jim Leach (R-Iowa) will speak on “Can the United Nations Be Reformed?” at a meeting today co-sponsored by the Coastline and Orange County chapters of the United Nations Assn.-U.S.A.
The meeting will be at 11:45 a.m. at the Airporter Inn Hotel, 18700 MacArthur Blvd. Admission, including lunch, is $15, or $13.50 for members and students.
Leach was a sponsor of legislation creating the U.S. Commission in Improving the Effectiveness of the United Nations. Along with his speech, there will be a panel moderated by Giles Brown, former associate vice president for academic affairs and a professor of history at Cal State Fullerton.
