The Madison High School softball team has established itself as one of the county’s best. Debbie Corbett is a main reason why.
Corbett, a senior, won three games last week to help improve her’s and Madison’s record to 5-0.
Corbett threw a two-hitter in a 2-0 victory over Monte Vista. She then got the victory in relief as Madison rallied to defeat Fountain Valley La Quinta, 5-4.
In the victory over La Quinta, Corbett hit two solo home runs.
Corbett finished her busy week with a three-hitter in a 1-0 victory over Thousand Oaks, one of the Southern Section’s best teams.

Carmel, also of the Palomar League, won both the girls’ and boys’ titles.
Lynn Patrick, a junior from Serra, won the San Diego Section high jump title last year with a jump of 5-feet 6-inches.
