The Wisconsin state Senate passed a bill to allow blind people to hunt deer and other game if they are accompanied by sighted hunters. The measure extends to the blind eligibility for special permits already available to people who present medical evidence that they are unable to hunt alone because of a permanent disability. Under the new measure, a visually impaired hunter would have to be accompanied by someone who could assist in aiming the firearm. The 27-6 vote in the Senate sent the bill to Gov. Tommy G. Thompson.
