Bolsa Grande Tournament : McCann Leads Lancers

Tim McCann went 3 for 4 with a triple and 6 RBIs to lead Orange Lutheran High School to a 15-4 victory over Dominguez Hills Saturday in a first-round game of the Bolsa Grande tournament at Bolsa Grande.
The Lancers (10-3) scored seven runs in the fifth inning. Chris Minogue went 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored for Orange Lutheran.
Ward Lookabaugh (6-0) gave up eight hits and struck out nine for the victory.
Costa Mesa 5, Rancho Alamitos 3--Costa Mesa’s Justin Reyes had a two-run single to spark a three-run first inning for Costa Mesa at Rancho Alamitos. Darron Mashburn went 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored, and winning pitcher Shawn Leffingwell (2-0) went 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs. Leffingwell struck out five in five innings.
Newport Harbor 26, Lynwood 16--Mike Palmer went 3 for 6 with 6 RBIs, and Tony Wren, Bryan Abbey and Zach Gomer all added four RBIs to lead Newport Harbor (3-7, 1-2) at Los Amigos High.
Estancia 9, Bolsa Grande 2--Estancia (7-3) used a four-run seventh to secure the victory over host Bolsa Grande (2-7).
Winning pitcher Conrad Colby (3-1) went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and 4 RBIs. Mike Lewis went 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored, and Mark Hartley scored 3 runs for Estancia. Kenny Robbins went 2 for 2 for Bolsa Grande.
Capistrano Valley 20, Santiago 7--Capistrano Valley (4-6) had an 11-run second inning, highlighted by Chris Ashback’s two-run home run, to defeat Santiago (3-7) at Rancho Alamitos. Ashback went 4 for 6 with 4 RBIs; David Rawson went 4 for 6 with 3 runs scored; Jim McGrew went 2 for 3 with three RBIs, and Matt Spence had three RBIs for Capistrano Valley.
