Police investigating a reported robbery found a group of suspected illegal aliens in a Compton house early Wednesday, authorities said.
Officers and Immigration and Naturalization Service agents discovered 17 to 20 suspected illegal aliens in a house in the 800 block of West 133rd Street, Compton Police Sgt. John Garrett said.
Officers came to the area after a man called police about midnight and reported that he had been robbed of $600 by a woman wielding a shotgun. Remedios Partida, 28, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and held at the Compton jail.
Her husband, suspected of harboring the aliens, was held for questioning but was not immediately booked, Garrett said.
