Kuwait Cheers Freed Hostages

KUWAIT — Hostages released from a hijacked Kuwait Airways jumbo jet flew home today to a tumultuous welcome after being held captive 16 days on a flight of terror spanning three countries and 7,600 miles.
Thousands of cheering Kuwaitis joined the Council of Ministers--the nation’s cabinet--in greeting the Kuwaiti passengers and crew of the Boeing 747, hijacked April 5 while on a flight from Bangkok to Kuwait with 112 people aboard.
