Local News in Brief : Police to Have Shorter Office Hours
- Share via
Hermosa Beach police headquarters will have a new front entrance and shorter office hours during a summer remodeling project that will begin this month.
A radio communication center will be built and the department’s records area expanded during the construction. The public will be able to park and enter the department, located at 540 Pier Ave., through the south end of the City Hall complex.
The lobby and records department have been open 24 hours, but will be open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. during the summer. The department will make copies of police reports and approve corrections of vehicle code violations only on weekdays, from noon until 1 p.m. and from 5 to 6 p.m.
Because of the remodeling, the public will also be required to call the city’s General Services Department, instead of the Police Department, for animal control and parking enforcement. The telephone number for General Services is 376-1413. It is answered from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. on weekdays and from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. on weekends.
