World-class weightlifter Naim Suleymanoglu, who defected from Bulgaria to Turkey in 1986, will compete in the Olympics for his new homeland, according to the International Olympic Committee.
The International Weightlifting Federation approved Turkey’s request for the switch earlier, an IOC spokeswoman said.
