Police on Monday were seeking four young men who burst into a Fountain Valley family’s home, tied up the seven occupants and ransacked the premises.
No injuries were reported in the 9 p.m. Saturday incident, which reportedly occurred while the family was watching television in the home in the 17100 block of Laurel Street. Police would not disclose the name of the family, except to say that they are Vietnamese.
Sgt. Larry Griswold said the intruders, armed with a knife, entered the house through an unlocked garage door. They bound the family members with electrical cord and then spent the next 1 1/2 hours searching the home for valuables.
They finally left with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry. Afterwards, the family freed themselves and called police.
The assailants were described only as Asians between the ages of 20 and 30.
“It’s one of the Asians-on-Asians mode of crime down here, which has become a rather prevalent mode of robbery,” Griswold said.
