3 Cyclists Qualify for Olympic Trials

Three members of the Valley-based Rainbow Sports Cycling Club have qualified for the Olympic Trials on July 23-Aug. 7 in Spokane, Wash.
John Tomac, John Wordin and Gary Hansen, all Valley-area residents, qualified earlier this month in Lancaster.
Tomac, 20, and Wordin, 25, qualified in two events, the time trials and road race. Hanson, 24, qualified in the time trial.
Thirty-eight riders out of a group of 320 advanced in the 112-mile road race. In the 40-kilometer time trials, 44 qualified out of a field of 500.
