Santa Ana’s Homeless

The Times article “Santa Ana Tramples on Rights of Its Homeless” (July 3), is on target and deeply appreciated by those of us who have been homeless.
I agree with The Times editorial that “when it comes to providing emergency housing, counseling and detoxification treatment for the street people, Santa Ana, the county Board of Supervisors and most cities are doing far too little. It is cruel not to help the homeless. It is even more cruel to deliberately hurt them.” Mayor Dan Young should not be reelected in November. How can anyone trust an insensitive human being like him and David Ream, his city manager?
