Romeo Qualifies 3rd for Bowling Final

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Robin Romeo of Van Nuys finished with a 42-game total of 9,624 pins to place third heading into today’s stepladder finals of the $35,000 Ladies Pro Bowlers Tour Fair Lanes Denver Classic.
Lisa Wagner of Palmetto, Fla., won 14 of her last 16 matches Wednesday to lead the qualifying by 222 pins over Wendy Macpherson of San Diego.
Wagner, trying for her fifth title of the season, averaged 239 over her final eight games of match play to finish with 9,896 pins. She leads the LPBT in earnings with $66,700 going into the finals. First prize is $7,000.
