Hooray for Residents

I was disappointed by reading Sam Hall Kaplan’s tunnel-vision perspective of the Franklin/LaBrea, MOCA/CRA Project.
The general objection to this project is not directed toward an “innovative” design. The infrastructure of this neighborhood cannot handle the building explosion it has experienced over the past four years.
Any additional housing units can only worsen the Franklin and La Brea neighborhood. It is an elitist perspective that believes the design of one building can enhance an entire neighborhood. Constructing this housing demonstration project on the Franklin/La Brea site would be analogous to giving a face lift to a person with terminal heart disease.
