Navy Orders 169 Harpoon Missiles

WASHINGTON — The Navy awarded McDonnell Douglas Corp. of St. Louis a $133.5-million contract for a total of 169 Harpoon anti-ship missiles for the Navy and seven foreign countries.
The Navy will get 83 missiles, Japan 47, Spain 29, Canada five, the Netherlands three, and Australia and Denmark one each, the Navy said. Britain will receive support equipment for missiles previously purchased.
