Local News in Brief : Newport Beach : Man Killed in Crash; Other Driver Arrested

A 31-year-old Fullerton man was killed early Wednesday in a head-on collision on Coast Highway at 61st Street, police said.
Antonio D. Perez was killed when his car was struck by a pickup truck that had veered off a curb in the westbound lanes of Coast Highway and then crossed into eastbound traffic. The driver of the truck, Cynthia R. Magill, 21, of Huntington Beach, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony drunk driving, according to Officer Robert Oakley of the Newport Beach police
Perez was pronounced dead at the scene. Magill was treated by paramedics and taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital & Medical Center. She was being held on $10,000 bond in the Newport Beach Jail.
