Migrant Worker Is Stabbed to Death

A migrant worker was stabbed to death Sunday in Oceanside along an isolated road near the strawberry fields and ravines lining the northeast side of the city.

Police were searching for both a suspect and a motive in the slaying that took place at 5 p.m. in the 6000 block of North River Road.

Officers discovered the worker, whose name was not released, with a stab wound in his chest, but the man died before paramedics could transport him to the hospital, authorities said. Police said they were called to the scene by a report of a wounded man lying along the road.
