Local News in Brief : Van Nuys Man Slain Outside His Apartment

A 52-year-old Van Nuys man returning home early Sunday after an night out was fatally shot outside his apartment complex, Los Angeles police said.
Police found the body of Walter Andre Miller lying on the asphalt parking lot behind his Vanowen Street apartment about 1:30 a.m., the victim of several gunshot wounds to the upper body, Sgt. Jeff Sheldon said. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have no suspect or motive for the killing, Sheldon said. The murder weapon had not been recovered, he said.
