Press 747 in Emergency Landing

CHICAGO — A chartered 747 jet carrying reporters covering Republican presidential nominee George Bush made an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport this afternoon after dumping fuel over Lake Michigan.
“They took off and they had a bad flap indicator,” said Mort Edelstein, spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration. The reporters had covered the vice president’s campaign stop in Chicago. Bush, who was on another plane, was on his way to Washington state.
