Energy Factors, a wholly owned subsidiary of New York-based Sithe/Energies Group, has broken ground in San Diego on three co-generation plants for the Navy. Completion of the three plants, valued at $115 million, is set for July, 1989. The Navy expects the three units, which will generate 110.6 megawatts of electricity, to cut its electric bills in San Diego by about $10 million annually.
Energy Factors will operate the three plants under 30-year contracts from the Navy.
