Ruth Augusta Walker, 71, of Poway, was killed Sunday when she and her husband attempted to cross the street in the 13200 block of Aubrey Street in Poway shortly before 7 p.m., a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
The woman, of the 13800 block of Olive Grove Place, died about 9 p.m. at Palomar Medical Center during emergency surgery. Her husband, Ralph, also 71, was listed in satisfactory condition Monday at Palomar.
The couple were taken by Life Flight to the hospital, the Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
The driver of the truck was not cited.
