Distorted Claims

We read with interest Harry Bernstein’s Aug. 23 column, “Bush’s Happy Talk Doesn’t Apply to Very Many Workers.” The column helps to prove what we have believed for a long time--that the Republican Party is the party of special interests, the corporate elite and the wealthy. The Reagan-Bush Administration’s claims concerning economic performance, specifically job creation, are distorted. The average working family has more members working more hours just to stay in the same place.
We have only one question. Why is this very important article not featured on the front page?
