CS Fullerton Opens Conference Schedule at Nevada Las Vegas

Cal State Fullerton, which last season beat Nevada Las Vegas for the first time since 1972, opens Big West Conference play against the Rebels tonight at 7 in UNLV’s Sam Boyd Silver Bowl.
Fullerton broke a nine-game losing streak against UNLV with a 28-14 victory last year at Santa Ana Stadium.
Fullerton quarterback Dan Speltz, who led El Camino College to an undefeated season last year, has completed only 39.5% of his passes for 186 yards in 2 games this season--a 24-9 loss to Southwestern Louisiana and a 45-10 loss to West Virginia.
UNLV’s Scott Sims completed only 4 of 22 passes for 39 yards in a 27-3 loss to Baylor two weeks ago. UNLV did not play last week.
