Fountain Valley Remains Undefeated, No. 1 in Poll

Fountain Valley High School, coming off a last-second 35-31 victory over El Toro Saturday, remained the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep football poll.
El Toro, ranked seventh last week, fell to ninth after the loss. Irvine made its initial appearance in the poll, giving the South Coast League 3 teams ranked among the top 10.
In the featured game of the week, Fountain Valley will meet third-ranked Mission Viejo at 7:30 Thursday night at Mission Viejo High.
