A celebration of the official recognition of Westminster’s Vietnamese shopping area as Little Saigon will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Asian Palace restaurant in Westminster.
The dinner, sponsored largely by the Greater Westminster Chambers of Commerce, will call attention to the shop-laden stretch of Bolsa Avenue from Newland to Brookhurst streets as a tourist attraction.
There are more than 800 businesses within the three-block area, according to Joan Warner, executive manager of the chamber.
“I think tourism and retail sales will increase once we let the world know that this special spot is available in Orange County,” she said.
The 10-course dinner, entitled “Little Saigon, A New Beginning,” costs $15. For information or reservations, call Joan Warner at (714) 898-9648.
