Birmingham 28, Grant 22--Dan Larson completed 8 of 18 passes for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the host Braves to their first win of the season.
Larson hooked up with Josh Epstein on a 60-yard touchdown pass with 6:13 left to give Birmingham a 28-12 lead. Grant’s Shawn Booker ran 12 yards for a touchdown later in the quarter and the Lancers added a safety to make the game close.
Birmingham’s Sharif Fahim caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from Larson in the first quarter.
