Local News in Brief : Bottle Detonated Near Granada Hills Home
- Share via
An object that residents feared might have been a homemade bomb was detonated Friday night outside a Granada Hills home by Los Angeles police.
Police were called after a resident, thinking he had heard an explosion outside, found a plastic soft drink bottle containing an unidentified liquid on a lawn in the 16100 block of Tulsa Street.
The bottle appeared to be distorted by a chemical reaction from the liquid, but authorities could not determine whether it was an explosive, Police Sgt. David Johnson said. As a precaution, police evacuated the immediate area and blew up the bottle.
