Small Fire Forces Closure of Space Needle Restaurant

SEATTLE — A small fire that broke out in the kitchen of the 605-foot Space Needle was quickly contained Saturday, but the lunchtime blaze forced officials to close the revolving restaurant on the landmark tower at least until today. No one was reported injured in the fire, the first in the tower’s 26-year history, a spokesman said.
